How Christmas Caroling Came to Be

You know, nothing beats a good Christmas carol, well maybe except for a good Christmas gift. Christmas have really gone a long way, ever since the first carols were sung. Actually, the carols we sing today during Christmas season all began with pagan rituals our ancestors had before. In the past, when Christmas celebration was never heard or mentioned, our ancestors celebrate various pagan rituals during the winter solstice and during these rituals there would be a lot of singing and merriment. When Christianity came and wiped out paganism in the face of the planet, the pagan rituals was replaced with Christmas celebration. Eventually, everything related to pagan celebrations was either erased or assimilated just like having carols.

It isn’t a bad thing. If caroling wasn’t assimilated by Christianity then we wouldn’t hear our favorite Christmas songs and carols.
